The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Rhode Island hosted the 6th annual NyAsia’s Walk on April 4, in partnership with the family of NyAsia Williams-Thomas and organized by the Milagros Project. This year’s walk had the largest turnout in the walk’s history, bringing together over 150 community members to honor NyAsia’s memory and raise awareness about the pervasive impact of gun violence on youth. NyAsia Williams-Thomas was a member of the Boys & Girls Club of Woonsocket who lost her life to gun violence on Dec. 4, 2019. This year’s walk was made possible by a coalition of partners and sponsors, including Congressman Gabe Amo, the Rhode Island Council of State Churches, Coletta’s Furniture, Planet Fitness, New Beginnings Kitchen, and the Nonviolence Institute.
