SNAP/DHS Assistance
Nurturing Families, Empowering Futures
At BGCNRI, we understand the importance of supporting families in accessing vital resources. Through our SNAP and DHS program, we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of parents and children in need. SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) ensures that families have access to nutritious food, promoting their overall well-being. Additionally, our partnership with DHS (Department of Human Services) enables us to provide essential social services, including healthcare, child welfare, and financial support. Together, we aim to create a supportive environment where families can thrive, empowering them to build a brighter future for themselves and their children.
How To Apply for SNAP
SNAP helps eligible individuals and families by providing funds to purchase food. Eligibility for SNAP is based on income, deductions, household size and resources in some circumstances. You can apply for SNAP through the online portal, by mail, or in-person. The Rhode Island Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs (RIABGC) is a SNAP Outreach partner helping Rhode Islanders learn about and apply for SNAP.
If you would like assistance with completing an application, or have questions about SNAP you may contact our Director of Family and Community Engagement, Michael Kenyon, MikeK@bgcnri.org
Learn more about DHS CCAP Program
BGCNRI proudly partners with the Department of Human Services (DHS) to offer the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP). The CCAP program provides financial assistance to eligible families, helping them afford quality childcare services while they work or attend school. Our dedicated staff ensures a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children in our care. Through this program, we strive to alleviate the financial burden on parents, allowing them to focus on their professional and educational pursuits, knowing their children are receiving excellent care and educational enrichment at Boys & Girls Club.
