Walter S. Schwaner Sr. 2026 Memorial Scholarship

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Rhode Island has available a $1000 Educational Scholarship Grant. The Walter S Schwaner Sr Scholarship honors the memory of Walter S. Schwaner, Sr. who served as President of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Rhode Island from 1969-70.

The recipient will be selected according to the following criteria:

  1. The scholarship is open to all students in the 2026 High School graduation class, and who will be continuing their education at an accredited two or four year college.
  2. The Walter S. Schwaner Sr. Memorial Scholarship is an award for $1000 and will be paid directly to the student upon successful completion of their first semester
  3. The grant will be based on financial need, academic achievement and community involvement
  4. Grant applications are due on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 in your Guidance Office, or at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Rhode Island, at 1 James J McKee Way, Cumberland, RI 02864
  5. It is your responsibility to make sure that your application is complete, and Includes your transcript and two (2) letters of recommendation.
